1. Research
Before you can write you need to become your target customer. Step into theirs shoes and be them for a while and get into every nook and cranny answering all questions and solving all problems.

Think of a guarantee that takes all the risks away so that your reader can order with peace of mind – 30 days unconditional.

7. Media
Decide on what media you are targeting. A newspaper, Magazines, Online Blogs, Editorials etc. and my advice is to tweak your advert to fit different forms of media.

8. Headline
This is the most important aspect of the copy. This is the first thing that your audience will read. They will decide to Stop reading or carry on just off the headline. Make it super charged causing emotion and the reader to want more. Start with words such as Discover, How To, The Secrets Of and captivate your audience.

9. Put it all Together with AIDA - Attention, Interest, Desire and Action.
I follow this format for all projects that I am copy writing for. It helps the copy flow for any project.

• Attention
Grab emotionally charged attention with Headlines and Sub Headlines.

• Interest
Don’t just create interest however; keep the interest flowing throughout your copy.  With interest I normally advise what problems I am solving and why they need the solution I am offering.

• Desire
Creating desire is fundamental. Our buying senses are triggered by emotion.  Create emotion with the benefits of what your service and product can do. Use your Trigger and Button words. Don’t talk too much about your company or you create desire with the benefits that you are offering to them.

• Action
Make it clear what action that your audience need to take in order to become a customer. Do they need to visit a website? Get more information? Pull out their credit card? Either way you need to decide and clearly let them know what they need to do.

10. Love Writing
Love to write, write as often as you can – practice makes perfect. Practice the art of writing for different genres in life and business. Practice the words and communication together to write compelling addictive copy – Killer Copy.

This is just a brief insight into writing professional copy.

I do hope that you put it to the test and let me know your results.
